Process Engineer - Mechanical Assembly

Position Title: Senior Process Engineer, Mechanical Assembly (Night Shift) Duration: 6-month contract to hire  Location: Weirton, WV  Pay Range:  $65-70/hr The night shift starts at 4 pm     Role Description: As a Senior Process Engineer, Mechanical Assembly (Night Shift), you will serve as the senior technical authority on the production floor during overnight hours, owning line performance, leading a team of technicians, and ensuring operational continuity in a high-complexity, automated manufacturing environment.    . Document issues and communicate effectively with day-shift engineering/quality teams.

• As a Senior Process Engineer, Mechanical Assembly (Night Shift), you will serve as the senior technical authority on the production floor during overnight hours, owning line performance, leading a team of technicians, and ensuring operational continuity in a high-complexity, automated manufacturing environment. 
   

• Lead night-shift manufacturing operations and make independent technical decisions.
• Guide and prioritize work for a team of technicians.
• Monitor OEE, yield, downtime, and cycle time to improve production.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and automated equipment issues.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement lasting fixes.
• Drive continuous improvement (CI), reliability, and ergonomics.
• Document issues and communicate effectively with day-shift engineering/quality teams.

• Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• 4–7+ years of manufacturing/process engineering experience.
• Experience leading or mentoring technical/maintenance teams.
• Strong knowledge of OEE, downtime, RCA, and production metrics.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical systems and automated equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently on night shift (4 PM start).
