Process Engineer
A well-established and growing manufacturer in the Triad is seeking a hands-on Process Engineer to join its engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys solving manufacturing problems through data analysis, continuous improvement, and process optimization rather than equipment maintenance or programming.
This position focuses on identifying production losses, conducting time studies, analyzing manufacturing data, improving throughput, increasing efficiency, and driving sustainable process improvements. The ideal candidate enjoys spending time on the manufacturing floor working alongside operations to understand processes and implement meaningful improvements.
Responsibilities
  • Analyze manufacturing data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and process improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct time studies, cycle time analysis, and labor studies to establish manufacturing standards.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve throughput, yield, and efficiency.
  • Utilize Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, standard work, and manufacturing procedures.
  • Analyze OEE, downtime, scrap, and production performance metrics to prioritize improvement activities.
  • Lead value stream mapping, Kaizen, and process optimization projects.
  • Partner closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering to improve manufacturing performance.
  • Support new product introductions and process validation activities.
  • Recommend and implement improvements that reduce waste, improve quality, and increase productivity.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 4+ years of manufacturing engineering or process engineering experience preferred.
  • Experience conducting time studies, cycle time analysis, labor standards, and process optimization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret manufacturing data and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, Value Stream Mapping, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience utilizing production metrics such as OEE, throughput, yield, downtime, and scrap to drive decisions.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and spending significant time on the production floor.
  • Green Belt certification is a plus.
Preferred Experience
  • High-volume manufacturing
  • Process optimization
  • Manufacturing data analysis
  • Continuous improvement
  • KPI development and reporting
  • Standard work development
  • Cross-functional project leadership
