POSITION SUMMARY

The Process Engineer acts as the subject-matter expert on facility chemical and gas systems within a client site. Primary duties include system performance optimization to ensure uninterrupted, defect-free service supply to the client factory, along with advanced troubleshooting, startup and commissioning support, higher-level maintenance support, configuration control, documentation, and support for risk assessments. The role collaborates with equipment OEMs, internal operations teams, cross-site operations teams, and key client stakeholders to maximize value to the client.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety

● Promote the company’s Incident Free Workplace culture and lead by example in daily operations.

● Ensure site compliance with company and client EHS programs, policies, and all regulatory requirements.

● Support incident investigations, implement corrective actions, reinforce proactive hazard identification, and lead JSA evaluations on job plans.

● Conduct safety audits and promote continuous improvement to reduce risk and maintain world-class safety performance.

Reliability

● Continually evaluate system performance, identify poor-performing equipment, and develop recovery/improvement plans.

● Utilize SPC to maximize performance and lead root cause analyses (RCAs) when an excursion occurs.

Maintenance Management

● Support the equipment maintenance program, including PM job scheduling, frequency, quality, and optimization.

● Ensure critical spares are evaluated and stocked to balance cost with reliability.

● Drive component second-sourcing strategy to ensure alternative components are pre-approved for use.

● Identify upgrade opportunities and perform NPV analysis with the client.

Documentation Configuration Control

● Develop and maintain up-to-date system documentation, including PM job plans, SOOs, troubleshooting specs, PIDs, PFDs, SOPs, and other critical operating documents.

● Identify all critical parameters (setpoints, alarms, deadbands, PID, etc.) needed to maintain compliance with customer specifications.

● Develop processes and procedures to maintain control through a Management of Change system, ensuring all critical setpoints are checked and maintained at predetermined frequencies.

Troubleshooting Cost Optimization

● Act as the escalation point for operations to solve advanced problems.

● Develop models to evaluate cost of ownership and evaluate options to reduce cost to the client — including condition-based maintenance and alternative materials — using risk-based evaluations.

Startup Commissioning

● Collaborate with OEMs, the GC, EOR, client, and internal teams to support startup and commissioning of gas and chemical equipment.

● Develop OAT/FAT documentation and startup plans.

● Identify system deficiencies and escalate to the customer point of contact for resolution.

● Support safety-level sign-off and execute OAT/FAT with clients, documenting equipment fingerprint.

Training Risk Assessment

● Develop technical training content to enable onboarding of new employees and upskilling of existing staff.

● Evaluate risk within a systematic methodology and communicate findings to leadership and the client.

● Collaborate with cross-site engineering, operations, and maintenance teams, and perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

● BS in Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university, with 2 years of experience in the semiconductor industry (or an equivalent role in a chemical-related industry); OR 10 years of experience in a similar role in lieu of a BS ChE degree.

● Proficiency with basic hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.

● Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.

● Proficiency with Microsoft programs such as Word and Excel.

● Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
