    SALARIED POSITION

    POSITION TITLE: Process Engineer or Engineer ISHIFT: 1st.

    SECTION OR DEPARTMENT: Electronics Division, Engineering Department

    REPORTS TO: Kevin Flynn, Engineering Manager

    LOCATION: Edmonton

    BASIC POSITION DUTIES:

    • Direct and lead process engineering support to assembly lines by developing operation and programs for robotic assembly equipment and other production machines.
    • Use engineering skills to optimize and improve existing processes and equipment.
    • Propose, introduce, and perform cost analysis for new equipment, procedures, and techniques needed to increase up time, reduce defects, and reduce costs.
    • Support product quality investigations to identify root causes of claim and critical process defects.
    • Write procedures and other documents for training and operations.
    • Monitors, reviews and confirms daily performance of assigned production lines.
    • Tracks in-process defects of assigned lines and identifies improvement activities to reduce and/or eliminate target defects.
    • Establishes and manages line improvement projects to increase productivity and reduce labor costs.
    • Establishes and develops manufacturing operation procedures, equipment procedures, daily check items, and other documentation or procedures for assembly processes.
    • Evaluates process design and layout for cost of manufacturing, man hour utilization, line balance, and manufacturing quality.
    • Collects data for line performance and uses analysis to identify improvement acidity for assigned areas.
    • Create progress reports and deliver to management as required for assigned areas.
    • Maintains and updates circuit test data, function test data, OCR, Vision and robot control program data.
    • Designs, develops and implements new tooling and fixtures for manufacturing process equipment.
    • Works with manufacturing, quality, maintenance, purchasing, and other departments as needed.

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

    • BS Engineering Degree in Electronics or Manufacturing or related field.
    • Minimum 1-3 years' experience in related fields and strong engineering/technical abilities.
    • Previous experience with light servo driven manufacturing equipment, press, dies and/or molding, circuit check, OCR, and vision systems.
    • Programming skills, knowledge of PLCs, computer controls, robotics, and effective communication/interpersonal skills necessary.
    • Soldering process knowledge is a strong plus.
    • Injection Molding experience a plus.

    ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

    • Reports to General Manager
    • This position has no direct reports.
    • Works with Manufacturing, Maintenance, Quality, and Process Engineering Departments.
