Job Description

As a Process Engineer, you will take responsibility for ensuring safety for yourself and others by promoting safety awareness and correcting unsafe conditions. You will lead and support a culture of continuous improvement, focusing on enhancing safety, quality, delivery, and cost within your assigned area and the facility overall. You will act as the In Control and Capable leader for your designated area or process, ensuring that product documentation is consistently up to date through active use of change control and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a culture of continuous improvement in daily activities.
• Ensure product documentation is up to date.
• Perform and teach root cause problem-solving.
• Serve as the technical expert for hourly personnel, including process technicians.
• Improve the capability and performance of machinery, processes, and people.
• Plan, implement, and direct projects, including capital projects.
• Analyze and drive action based on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Participate in new product development and existing product improvement.
• Perform process capability studies and use statistical techniques for analysis.
• Act as a subject matter expert in metrology for the department.
• Understand and utilize basic statistical tools to analyze processes.
• Produce competitive analysis materials comparing products with competitors.

Essential Skills

• Experience with plastic injection molding processes.
• Proficiency in process engineering and continuous improvement.
• Knowledge of manufacturing engineering and process improvement.
• Understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
• Familiarity with PLCs and PPAP processes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor"s degree in engineering or a technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in a plastics processing or plastic injection molding environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, 2D and 3D CAD software.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read, interpret, and manipulate drawings and understand tolerance stack.

Work Environment

This position offers a temperature-controlled manufacturing environment within a smaller site consisting of around 50 employees and 3-4 Engineers. The company respects work/life balance, with typical working hours from 8 AM to 5 PM, and flexibility on start and end times. Overtime work is uncommon.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Dickson, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $105000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
