A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Probate Paralegal to join their team in a 100% remote, temp-to-hire capacity, offering a long-term opportunity for the right candidate. This position provides the chance to support a busy probate and estate administration practice while working independently in a fully remote environment. Compensation for this role is available up to $80,000 annually (DOE), with the expectation that the initial contract period will transition into a permanent position based on performance and business needs.
Position Overview:
The Probate Paralegal will play a key role in managing estate administration matters from start to finish, supporting attorneys with drafting, filings, and client communications. This position requires someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable handling sensitive client matters with professionalism and empathy.
Key Responsibilities:
Support attorneys in all phases of probate and estate administration
Prepare and file probate petitions, inventories, accountings, and related court documents
Manage case calendars, track deadlines, and ensure timely filings
Communicate with clients, beneficiaries, courts, and financial institutions
Assist with asset identification, valuation, and distribution processes
Draft legal correspondence and probate-related documents
Maintain and organize electronic case files
Monitor case progress and proactively follow up on outstanding items
Qualifications:
3+ years of probate or estate administration experience required
Strong knowledge of probate procedures, court filings, and timelines
Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
Experience with legal case management and document systems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
Paralegal certificate preferred but not required
