A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Probate Paralegal to join their team in a 100% remote, temp-to-hire capacity, offering a long-term opportunity for the right candidate. This position provides the chance to support a busy probate and estate administration practice while working independently in a fully remote environment. Compensation for this role is available up to $80,000 annually (DOE), with the expectation that the initial contract period will transition into a permanent position based on performance and business needs.

Position Overview:

The Probate Paralegal will play a key role in managing estate administration matters from start to finish, supporting attorneys with drafting, filings, and client communications. This position requires someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable handling sensitive client matters with professionalism and empathy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support attorneys in all phases of probate and estate administration
  • Prepare and file probate petitions, inventories, accountings, and related court documents
  • Manage case calendars, track deadlines, and ensure timely filings
  • Communicate with clients, beneficiaries, courts, and financial institutions
  • Assist with asset identification, valuation, and distribution processes
  • Draft legal correspondence and probate-related documents
  • Maintain and organize electronic case files
  • Monitor case progress and proactively follow up on outstanding items

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of probate or estate administration experience required
  • Strong knowledge of probate procedures, court filings, and timelines
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
  • Experience with legal case management and document systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Paralegal certificate preferred but not required
