Mother-Baby RNs consult and coordinate with health care team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care plans for both mother and infant. Assist mothers with hygienic needs, checking for any postpartum bleeding, examining the fundus, and C-section incision (if applicable).

Responsibilities

Mother-Baby RNs consult and coordinate with health care team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care plans for both mother and infant. Mother-Baby RNs monitor the bonding between mother and infant and provide mothers with breastfeeding tips. Mother-Baby RN job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Maintain a comfortable, safe, and clean environment for mother and infant
• Assist mothers with hygienic needs, checking for any postpartum bleeding, examining the fundus, and C-section incision (if applicable)
• Perform emotional status checks on mothers, recognizing symptoms related to postpartum depression
