PRN Medical Assistant or LPN | Corporate Health Center
Location: Princeton, NJ 08540.
Schedule: Weekdays, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM | PRN, as-needed coverage.
Employment Type: W-2, PRN/Per Diem.
Pay Rate: $30/hour for Medical Assistants | $35/hour for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs).
About the Opportunity
Photon Medical Group is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide PRN coverage at an onsite corporate health center in Princeton, NJ.
The health center provides employees with convenient access to preventive care, wellness services, and routine medical care in a professional workplace environment.
This is a hands-on, patient-facing position focused on supporting healthcare providers, delivering quality patient care, and maintaining an efficient patient experience. PRN staff work collaboratively with the onsite clinical team and follow established health center procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and room patients, obtain vital signs, collect relevant medical history, and document patient intake information.
- Perform venipuncture, specimen collection and handling, point-of-care testing, and EKGs within applicable scope and demonstrated competency.
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, treatments, and minor procedures as appropriate.
- Support vaccinations, injections, and other clinical services within applicable scope of practice, training, and established protocols.
- Provide patients with follow-up instructions and health education as directed by the clinical team.
- Assist with appointment scheduling, referrals, and routine patient care coordination.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Prepare examination rooms, clean and disinfect equipment, and replenish supplies as needed.
- Follow established clinical policies, infection-control procedures, documentation standards, and patient-safety protocols.
- Recognize and promptly escalate patient concerns or urgent medical situations to the appropriate licensed clinician.
Qualifications
Candidates must meet one of the following:
- Medical Assistant credential or equivalent qualification consistent with applicable New Jersey law and employer policy; or
- Active, unrestricted New Jersey Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
Additional Requirements
- Current Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
- Strong, current hands-on phlebotomy experience, including the ability to perform venipuncture independently.
- Experience in an outpatient, primary care, occupational health, or comparable clinical setting.
- Current hands-on experience administering vaccinations and injections within applicable scope of practice, training, and established clinical protocols.
- Experience with patient intake, vital signs, specimen handling, and routine clinical procedures.
- Proficiency with electronic health records and basic computer applications.
- Strong communication, organizational, and patient-service skills.
- Ability to work independently within established clinical workflows and applicable scope of practice.
- Ability to reliably commute to Princeton, NJ and provide PRN coverage as needed.
