  • Completion of accredited Medical Assistant program
  • Certified Medical Assistant
  • Computer experience including use of Microsoft Office
  • Experience documenting in electronic health records
  • Experience working in a Primary Care clinic (Family Medicine or Internal Medicine) or an Urgent Care clinic.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using eClinical Works.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate

Job Description

Join the Texas State University Student Health Center, a nationally accredited ambulatory health care facility with in-house laboratory and radiology services. Serving more than 40,000 students, our team-oriented organization is committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered care. We are seeking a PRN Medical Assistant to become part of our dedicated clinical team. Clinic operating hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Job Duties

Front & Back Office Responsibilities

  • Obtain and document patient history, vital signs, allergies, and chief complaints.
  • Schedule appointments and maintain accurate electronic medical records.
  • Perform clinical procedures, including EKGs, wound care, immunizations, and medication administration.
  • Assist providers during examinations and procedures; coordinate referrals and follow-up care.
  • Prepare and stock exam rooms, label specimens, and maintain clinical supplies.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with safety and infection-control standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
