Description

LA Stone Crafts Co., LLC is looking for a dependable, motivated Print Production Assistant to join our team. We are a small, growing custom print and apparel shop producing custom apparel, embroidery, signs, decals, laser-engraved products, and more.

Some previous print shop or production experience is a plus, but entry-level candidates are welcome to apply. We provide hands-on training on our equipment, software, production processes, and workflow.

Job Responsibilities

As a Print Production Assistant, you will assist with all aspects of day-to-day production, including:

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly printer and equipment maintenance
  • Load and change media in printers and other production equipment
  • Design, edit, prepare, and vectorize graphics using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Prepare and send print jobs using RasterLink and/or CADlink
  • Design, edit, and prepare files for laser cutting and engraving
  • Design, edit, and prepare embroidery files
  • Print directly onto garments and other merchandise
  • Print and cut DTF transfers
  • Heat press DTF transfers onto shirts, sweatshirts, and other merchandise
  • Assist with embroidery, printing, laser, and other production processes as trainedUpdate and maintain merchandise and supply inventory
  • Monitor inventory levels and order supplies or merchandise when needed
  • Pick up merchandise, media, supplies, or materials from local vendors when needed
  • Fold and prepare garments for customer orders
  • Wrap, package, and prepare merchandise for pickup or delivery
  • Perform quality-control checks throughout production
  • Keep production areas, equipment, tools, and the overall shop clean and organized
  • Assist with other production and shop tasks as needed

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • State-required automobile insurance
  • Reliable transportation and ability to make occasional local pickups
  • Basic experience with Adobe Photoshop
  • Basic experience with Adobe Illustrator
  • Comfortable working with Windows-based computers
  • Comfortable learning new software and production equipment
  • Able to follow detailed instructions and production procedures
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Dependable and punctual
  • Able to stay organized while working on multiple orders
  • Willing to learn and take on new responsibilities

Preferred Experience

Previous experience in a print shop, apparel decoration business, sign shop, embroidery shop, or similar production environment is preferred but not required. Experience with any of the following is a plus:

  • Adobe Illustrator
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • RasterLink
  • CADlink
  • DTF printing
  • DTG printing
  • Heat pressing
  • Embroidery
  • Embroidery digitizing or file preparation
  • Wide-format printing
  • Vinyl cutting
  • Laser engraving and cutting
  • Graphic design or vector artwork
  • Apparel production
  • Print finishing and order fulfillment

You do not need to know everything on this list. Training will be provided.

Physical Requirements

This is a hands-on production position and requires regular physical activity throughout the workday. The employee must be able to:

  • Stand and walk for extended periods during a normal workday
  • Frequently bend, reach, crouch, kneel, and move around production equipment
  • Regularly use hands and arms to operate printers, heat presses, embroidery machines, laser equipment, computers, tools, and other production equipment
  • Perform repetitive hand and arm movements associated with printing, pressing, folding, packaging, and production work
  • Lift, carry, push, and move boxes of garments, merchandise, supplies, and printing media
  • Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Load and unload rolls, sheets, garments, and other media into production equipment
  • Reach into and around printers and production equipment when performing routine maintenance and cleaning
  • Safely use step stools or similar equipment when accessing supplies or materials
  • Maintain the manual dexterity and visual attention necessary for detailed production, artwork preparation, finishing, and quality-control work
  • Work around normal print-shop equipment, machinery, heat presses, inks, adhesives, cleaning products, and production materials

What We're Looking For

Because we're a small shop, we're looking for someone who is willing to be part of the entire production process. On any given day, you might be preparing artwork in Illustrator, loading a printer, pressing shirts, working on an embroidery file, packaging an order, or helping organize the shop.

The right person is someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, comfortable working with both computers and production equipment, and genuinely interested in learning how a modern custom print shop operates.

We especially value someone who:

  • Is comfortable asking questions when unsure
  • Can follow established procedures while also learning new ones

  • Understands the importance of completing customer orders correctly and on time
    If you already have print-production experience, we'd love to hear from you. If you're newer to the industry but have a good attitude, basic Photoshop and Illustrator skills, and are eager to learn, we'd still encourage you to apply.
