What You Will Do
As a Principle Systems Engineer, you will architect, secure, and maintain the enterprise identity and collaboration landscape of both ourselves and our Clients. This senior-level role focuses on high-level Microsoft 365 administration, Intune endpoint management, and the robust management of Windows Server and Active Directory (AD) environments. You will serve as a Tier 3 escalation point, leading complex infrastructure projects and migrations while ensuring optimal performance and security across hybrid environments.
Advanced Technical Support:
· Provide expert-level technical support to resolve complex IT issues escalated from Tier 1 and
· Tier 2 teams, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
· Analyze and resolve complex technical problems related to hardware, software, network, and
· applications promptly and effectively.
Incident Management:
· Lead the resolution of critical incidents, identifying root causes and implementing permanent
fixes to prevent future occurrences.
Troubleshooting:
· Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and application issues across the
organization's IT environment.
Infrastructure Management:
· Monitor and maintain the organization's servers, networks, and systems to ensure optimal
performance, security, and availability.
Vendor Coordination:
· Liaise with third-party vendors and service providers to troubleshoot and resolve technical
issues, ensuring effective communication and timely resolution.
Documentation:
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of IT processes, procedures, configurations,

Knowledge Sharing:
· Provide training and knowledge transfer to Tier 1 and Tier 2 support teams to enhance their
technical skills and capabilities.
Project Support:
· Assist in the planning, implementation, and maintenance of IT projects, including system
upgrades, migrations, and new technology deployments.
Capacity Planning:
· Monitor system performance trends and collaborate with relevant teams to anticipate and
address capacity requirements.
Infrastructure & Architecture
· M365 & Collaboration: Design and manage the M365 tenant, including Exchange Online, Teams, and SharePoint. Implement governance, security protocols (MFA, Conditional Access), and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) strategies.
· Intune & Endpoint Management: Architect and deploy modern device management solutions using Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot. Create and enforce device compliance and application protection policies.
· SQL Optimization: Assist Clients with advanced SQL issues, suggest Database optimizations, and offer advanced guidance to better utilize SQL environments.
· Identity & Directory Services: Administer and secure on-premises Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD). Manage hybrid identity architectures, GPO design, and core services like DNS, DHCP, and PKI.
· Server Infrastructure: Support and optimize Windows Server environments, including virtualization platforms like VMware or Hyper-V, and hardware platforms such as Scale and Nutanix. Lead server migrations and OS upgrades.
· Security & Compliance: Conduct root cause analysis on critical outages and proactively remediate security risks.
· Incident Response: Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to respond to, troubleshoot, and resolve critical incidents in a timely manner.
What You Have Done
Required Qualifications:
· Experience: 7+ years in systems engineering, with at least 3–5 years focused specifically on M365, Intune, and enterprise-level AD management.
· M365: Expert administration of Exchange, Teams, and Entra ID.
· Intune: Proven experience in MDM/MAM, Autopilot, and endpoint security.
· Server/AD: Advanced knowledge of AD FSMO roles, Group Policy, and Windows Server 2012–2025.
· Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
· Soft Skills: Strong analytical troubleshooting, client engagement, and the ability to mentor junior staff.
· Networking: Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, load balancing, etc.).
· Virtualization: Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
· Backups: Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery strategies and tools.
· Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively across departments.
