PGS Worldwide is seeking Secret-Cleared Software Engineers – Test Equipment in Tucson, Arizona for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. These positions will support the design, development, integration, and maintenance of software used with engineering and production test equipment for advanced defense systems. Engineers will develop Windows-based applications, libraries, and instrument drivers while working within multidisciplinary hardware and software engineering teams.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), or an advanced degree in a related discipline.
- Relevant software engineering experience appropriate to the position level.
- Experience developing and integrating object-oriented software applications.
- Experience with programming languages including C++, C#, Java, Python, and/or Visual Basic.
- Experience with Windows operating systems.
- Experience developing software using Microsoft Visual Studio.
- Experience using integrated development environments and debugging tools to troubleshoot software implementations.
- Experience designing, developing, and integrating software supporting engineering or production systems.
- Ability to develop and derive software requirements.
- Ability to troubleshoot software and test-equipment instrumentation.
- Ability to manage multiple software engineering tasks concurrently.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Active U.S. government security clearance required to start.
- U.S. citizenship required.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with laboratory test instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, and digital multimeters.
- Knowledge of computer architecture and hardware optimization techniques.
- Experience or knowledge of software-driver development for computer hardware interfaces.
- Experience with communication protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, or RS-422.
- Experience with Unified Modeling Language (UML).
- Experience with Waterfall and Agile software development lifecycles.
- Knowledge of Software Configuration Management principles.
- Microsoft Azure DevOps Server or GitHub experience.
- Technical leadership or project leadership experience.
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, and integrate object-oriented software applications using C# and C++.
- Develop Windows-based applications using Microsoft Visual Studio.
- Create applications, libraries, and instrument drivers supporting test equipment.
- Develop system-level software supporting engineering and production test environments.
- Troubleshoot software applications and test-equipment instrumentation.
- Develop and derive requirements for software products.
- Support engineering activities throughout the development lifecycle, including testing, design verification, production, and sustainment.
- Work with multidisciplinary teams developing engineering and production test systems.
- Prioritize and execute multiple software engineering tasks.
- Support integration and maintenance of software used with advanced engineering systems and test equipment.
- Senior-level engineers may also lead technical activities and mentor junior software engineers.
Work Schedule / Shift
- Full-time onsite in Tucson, Arizona.
- 40 hours per week.
- 100% onsite.
Pay
- $74.39–$87.11 per hour, depending on position level.
