    Description

What if you could redesign how Amazon manages hundreds of billions of dollars flowing in and out of the company?

Every day, Amazon pays millions of vendors, collects payments from customers, settles financial obligations, and reconciles transactions across its global businesses. Behind these interactions are two massive financial ecosystems: Procure-to-Pay (P2P) and Order-to-Cash (O2C). Historically, these ecosystems have evolved independently, creating fragmented financial experiences, disconnected customer and vendor relationships, and opportunities to unlock significant value through better automation, financial visibility, and working capital management.

Amazon FinTech is building the next generation of financial infrastructure, and we"re looking for a Principal Product Manager - Technical to help bring these two worlds together. Our vision is to create a unified financial platform that connects how money is owed, paid, collected, settled, and reconciled across Amazon.

As a Principal PM-T, you will own the product strategy and roadmap for critical P2P and O2C convergence capabilities, making consequential product and technology decisions that shape Amazon"s financial infrastructure for years to come. You will work closely with senior leaders across FinTech, Engineering, Treasury, Accounting, Tax, and Amazon"s businesses to translate complex financial challenges into scalable platform solutions.

If you enjoy building products from first principles, solving complex technical problems at extraordinary scale, and creating foundational platforms that transform how Amazon operates, this role offers that opportunity.

    Key job responsibilities

    Product Vision & Strategy

Define and drive the long-term product vision for P2P and O2C convergence, connecting Amazon"s payables and receivables ecosystems through shared financial capabilities.

Build a multi-year product strategy and roadmap for unified counterparty identity, financial balances, transaction orchestration, netting, and settlement experiences.

Identify opportunities to eliminate fragmented financial workflows and create reusable platform capabilities that serve multiple Amazon businesses.

Translate complex customer, vendor, and finance problems into differentiated product experiences that improve financial transparency, efficiency, and control.

Drive strategic prioritization and investment decisions, balancing customer value, technical scalability, financial impact, and long-term platform evolution.

    Platform & Technical Leadership

Partner deeply with Engineering and Architecture teams to design highly scalable, resilient financial platforms supporting hundreds of billions of dollars in transactions.

Define foundational capabilities for counterparty financial identity, balance visibility, transaction lifecycle management, and interoperability across P2P and O2C systems.

Shape technical decisions around distributed systems, financial data models, APIs, event-driven architectures, transaction consistency, and intelligent orchestration.

Establish reusable services that connect invoicing, payments, cash application, disputes, collections, deductions, and settlements without duplicating capabilities across financial platforms.

Drive architectural simplification and modernization, enabling Amazon businesses to adopt shared financial services while maintaining strong controllership and regulatory compliance.

    Business & Operational Ownership

Own measurable product outcomes across working capital optimization, cash application accuracy, settlement efficiency, financial automation, and customer/vendor experience.

Enable intelligent financial workflows such as deduction from payment, balance netting, automated reconciliation, and resolution of financial obligations across payables and receivables.

Identify opportunities to apply AI and intelligent decisioning to reduce manual intervention, accelerate financial resolution, and improve operational productivity.

Improve the end-to-end financial experience for customers and vendors by providing greater transparency into invoices, payments, balances, and settlement status.

Partner with Finance, Treasury, Accounting, Tax, and Operations to ensure products meet global financial controls, auditability, and compliance requirements.

    Cross-Functional Leadership

Influence senior Product, Engineering, and Finance leaders across multiple Amazon organizations to establish a unified vision for financial platform convergence.

Drive alignment on product boundaries, architectural tradeoffs, investment priorities, and ownership models across traditionally independent P2P and O2C ecosystems.

Lead strategic planning, executive reviews, business cases, and multi-year investment discussions with senior leadership.

Navigate complex organizational and technical dependencies while maintaining clear accountability for product strategy, customer outcomes, and execution.

Raise the bar for product thinking, technical judgment, and customer obsession across Amazon FinTech through mentorship and cross-organizational leadership.

    About Company

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
