A Principal Product Manager leads product strategy, vision, and execution across complex product areas. The role requires deep customer understanding, market analysis, cross-functional leadership, and the ability to drive high-impact product investments. PMs are expected to influence across organizations, shape long-term strategy, and deliver customer and business outcomes through product innovation.

Responsibilities

Analysis of Customer and Market Signals

  • Lead cross-team problem solving using customer, market, and ecosystem insights.
  • Analyze trends and opportunities.
  • Validate product-market fit.
  • Gather customer feedback and translate insights into product decisions.
  • Build strategic partnerships and manage stakeholder relationships.

Go-To-Market Leadership

  • Promote product capabilities internally and externally.
  • Partner with Marketing, Engineering, Sales, and Support teams.
  • Define release criteria and launch strategies.
  • Drive customer acquisition and adoption plans.
  • Support creation of training and product content.

Product Strategy and Definition

  • Identify investment opportunities.
  • Define product vision and long-term roadmap.
  • Establish success metrics and business outcomes.
  • Write product strategy documents and business cases.
  • Align stakeholders around priorities and product direction.

Product Development

  • Drive feature prioritization and requirements.
  • Partner with Engineering and Design teams.
  • Ensure usability, accessibility, security, and compliance requirements are met.
  • Manage tradeoffs between customer needs, schedule, and business goals.
  • Incorporate AI-first thinking and responsible AI practices where applicable.

Product Performance and Growth

  • Define and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Analyze product health and usage metrics.
  • Drive improvements based on data and customer feedback.
  • Manage feature deprecation and transition planning.
  • Build ongoing customer engagement loops to improve the product.
  • Embody our culture and values.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
  • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

  • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in Business Administration AND 10+ years of experience in product/service/project/program management

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Experience in Cloud Technologies and Data platforms.

Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $142,800 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
