Principal Platform Engineer

We are building a world-class online destination for music and video content. We are astartup within the largest the largest integrated film company. With no Netflix, Hulu or Spotify equivalent in South Asia, we are poised to capture that market.

We have established a small team of low-drama, hard-working, smart people. We are looking for an exceptional developer to use creative thinking and raw innovation to drive the development of many aspects of our platform. 

Responsibilities:
As a platform engineer, you will be architecting and developing large scale distributed infrastructure across multiple data centers worldwide. You will be working on exploring software and hardware strategies for getting the best performance out of various system configurations.

Requirements:

• 5+ years experience of server-side software development experience.
• 
  
• Solid Computer Sciences skills.
• 
  
• Must understand the core principles of OO design & development and how to apply them in a highly scaled environment.
• 
  
• Experience working in a Distributed/Cloud-based environment (e.g. Amazon EC2, GCE, Rackspace, Azure, etc.).
• 
  
• Experience in cloud deployments and performance tuning of distributed systems.
• 
  
• Deep understanding of good software design patterns mixed with a healthy passion for refactoring and keeping things simple.
• 
  
• Experience owning and maintaining critical Web Services.
• 
  
• Deep knowledge of concurrency, resiliency, caching, HTTP and REST.
• 
  
• BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience. 
• 
  

Plus Requirements:

• Familiarity with technical aspects of a variety of video and audio file formats.
• 
  
• Excellent understanding of video/audio streaming technologies (HLS, DASH, Smooth Streaming).
• 
  
• Knowledge of data analytics.
