Principal Piping Engineer

Location: Wyomissing, PA
Work Schedule: Hybrid; three days per week in the office required
Employment Type: Long-term contract

We are seeking an experienced Principal Piping Engineer for a long-term contract opportunity with our client in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will provide piping engineering services, technical support, and team leadership for multidisciplinary projects. You will help ensure engineering deliverables meet client, customer, and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements while maintaining project schedules and budgets.

Key Responsibilities

• Initiate, manage, and, as needed, supervise piping engineering project requirements.

• Serve as the piping engineering lead on assigned projects, providing technical direction and coordinating engineering activities.

• Prepare and review detailed designs, drawings, specifications, data sheets, calculations, and technical reports.

• Participate in project meetings, prepare progress reports, and follow established checking and quality procedures.

• Clarify project scope and ensure changes follow established change management processes.

• Support procurement, construction, and commissioning activities, including preparing requisitions and conducting technical bid evaluations.

• Define team requirements, assign tasks, monitor progress, and promote collaboration and worksharing across offices, where appropriate.

• Resolve discrepancies between client and customer requirements and develop practical solutions to technical issues.

• Provide guidance and mentoring to junior piping engineering personnel.

• Communicate effectively with engineering teams, customers, and other project stakeholders.

• Stay current with technical developments, industry practices, and innovations in piping engineering.

Required Qualifications

• Extensive relevant piping engineering experience, including substantial technical and practical experience on multidisciplinary projects.

• Demonstrated experience in a project leadership role.

• Strong technical and practical engineering skills, with a consistent record of delivering accurate, high-quality work on time and within budget.

• Thorough knowledge of piping engineering fundamentals and a working understanding of related engineering disciplines.

• Strong knowledge of applicable local and international codes, standards, and statutory and regulatory requirements.

• Proficiency with CAESAR II and the Microsoft Office Suite.

• A four- or five-year technical degree in piping engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline that meets the educational requirements for professional engineering registration.

• An active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the United States.

• Ability to work in the Wyomissing, PA office three days per week.

Preferred Qualification

• Experience with AutoPIPE.
