    Description

    The Senior Action Officer leads, streamlines, and maintains Director's Action Group (DAG) support functions for NRO Program, Office, Directorate, and Staff components. This role oversees executive-level correspondence, manages NRO TIER action tracking, and ensures critical policy and legislative updates are seamlessly coordinated across internal and external IC/DoD agencies. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the Senior Action Officer prepares strategic briefings and enforces quality control on executive documentation to directly support leadership decision-making.

    Tasks:

    • Lead, develop, and streamline the Director's Action Group (DAG) support functions

    • Identify internal and external issues that may impact the NRO and take appropriate action as approved by the U.S. Government

    • Draft, consolidate, coordinate, and edit executive-level documentation to ensure consistency with organizational strategic objectives; apply an in-depth knowledge and understanding of DoD/IC issues, policies, programs, and procedures affecting the NRO

    • Make recommendations and prepare briefings, point papers, and other materials based on analysis of complex policy issues and documents

    • Participate in external committees, Integrated Process Teams (IPTs), working groups, and task forces

    • Ensure critical information is disseminated to internal and external agencies including the OSD, ODNI, and mission partner equivalent offices

    • Perform and maintain DAG support functions to include recognition programs, training, and security

    • Manage NRO TIER actions for supported office

    • Analyze and assign or perform actions, as appropriate

    • Coordinate responses and assess for accuracy prior to senior management review

    • Manage and execute the action tracking process, develop standard operating procedures, and serve as facilitator for user requirements

    • Monitor progress on actions, generate metrics to demonstrate accountability for meeting deadlines and quality expectations; prepare periodic reports on action status and keep leadership aware of late, pending, and new actions

    • Disseminate policy and legislative changes to appropriate parties internal to the NRO

    • Draft, proofread, edit, and provide final review of internal and external correspondence

    • Coordinate and maintain presentations for audiences up to the NRO-Level, maintain a quality control process for all presentations

    • Participate in DAG-related meetings

    • Manage records generated during the execution of the Directorate's projects and programs IA W Federal Laws and Regulations, as well as NRO Directives and Instructions

    Desired Skill Set:

    • Senior Level AOs possess the same desired skill set as the Intermediate Level. Desired Education and Relevant Experience outlined in the below table below.

    • Demonstrated experience in one (1) or more of the following areas: federal acquisitions, DoD or the IC budget and finance processes, and National Security Policy

    • Demonstrated experience working with senior executives at multiple organizational levels

    • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office and standard computer applications

    • Demonstrated experience adapting to a rapidly changing work environment while maintaining flexibility and versatility

    • Demonstrated experience fostering solid relationships that promote cooperation and communicate expectations

    • Demonstrated experience analyzing situations and make well-informed decisions

    • Demonstrated experience communicating effectively and concisely using a variety of styles and techniques appropriate to the audience
