The Data Technology Services team provides data services to the business unit. The team provides database support, design and development support to delivery teams, and cloud migration and management. In addition, the Data Technology Services team builds utilities that help increase the efficiency of database platforms and improve team productivity. In this role, you will work with multiple teams, including Architects and Product Development teams.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or an equivalent degree with relevant experience.
12–15 years of relevant experience.
Use your experience and subject matter expertise to help product teams implement data best practices.
Leverage your analytical skills and insights to guide teams in alignment with business unit priorities.
Provide technical expertise and guidance across multiple teams.
Define, own, and drive initiatives that improve productivity and add value, including self-service capabilities, automation of recurring activities, and reporting.
Demonstrate strong understanding of AWS cloud environments and experience managing large-scale cloud deployments.
Demonstrated experience and expertise in the following areas:
Working with Application Development and Performance teams to tune database components during the design-to-deployment lifecycle using Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle RAC, and GoldenGate.
In-depth knowledge of AWS cloud components, including databases, underlying infrastructure, and related services.
Strong expertise in Oracle RAC, Oracle performance tuning, and SQL tuning.
Experience with schema design, data models, database best practices, and Oracle database features.
Supporting application support teams on Oracle database-related activities, including Oracle RAC environments.
Expertise in Oracle SQL tuning and Oracle instance tuning.
Identifying and implementing improvements in database services through automation, self-service enablement, and process improvements.
Participating in database design reviews.
Participating in Level 3 on-call rotation to support critical applications based on business requirements.
Working with Systems Analysts to define technical requirements.
Supporting multiple projects and product teams simultaneously.
Experience with traditional database technologies:
Oracle
DB2 UDB
Microsoft SQL Server
Sybase
Exposure to Big Data technologies and NoSQL databases such as:
Cassandra
MongoDB
Experience with AWS technologies including:
Amazon RDS
EC2
EKS
Strong understanding of AWS cloud concepts.
Excellent troubleshooting and error analysis skills.
Working knowledge of Information Security concepts.
Solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
Exceptional customer service skills.
Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly demanding environment.
15+ years of Oracle Database support, design, performance tuning, and production support experience in complex, multi-platform environments.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to tailor communication based on the target audience.
Experience working in Agile environments and Agile methodologies.
