We are seeking a Principal Manufacturing & Assembly Engineer who can develop manufacturing processes and assembly methods that transition designs into reliable, repeatable production.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop rocket propulsion structures, motor cases, nozzles, and flight hardware
Perform structural and thermal finite element analysis (FEA)
Select and qualify metals, composites, ceramics, insulation, and thermal protection materials
Support additive manufacturing design and qualification
Lead structural failure investigations and corrective actions
Support component qualification, static-fire testing, and flight testing
Collaborate with manufacturing, test, propulsion, and systems engineering teams
Improve structural performance, manufacturability, weight, and reliability
Requirements
Required Qualifications
BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Materials Engineering
5+ years designing aerospace structural components
Experience with ANSYS and/or Abaqus
Strong understanding of composites and aerospace materials
U.S. Citizenship (ITAR)
Preferred Qualifications
Rocket propulsion or missile structures
Thermal protection systems (TPS)
Active DoD Security Clearance
Experience supporting propulsion testing or flight hardware qualification
