Primary Duties and Responsibilities

In this role you will be responsible for the delivery and collection of menus and meal trays for patients in the Neuropsychiatric Hospital. You will ensure that patients receive appropriate meal trays and snacks within specified time frames, and act as liaison with the Diet Office and Nursing personnel to ensure the patients' needs are being met.
Responsibilities include:
Welcome new patients and orients them to Room Service Program
Uses Diet Master List to ensure that every patient listed has a menu to be distributed
Assists patients to make meal selections; place meal order if necessary
Assemble meal trays and deliver to patients
Contact patients who did not order a meal on assigned units
Remove soiled trays, dishes, and silverware from patient rooms
Maintain a safe and sanitary work area
Maintain nourishments/supplies on the nursing unit pantry
Job Qualifications

Able to read and write standard English.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic.
Ability to follow standardized recipes.
Knowledge of general and nutrient modified diets.
Ability to work in standing position for a long period of time; stretch, bend walks, stoops, and reaches repetitively.
Ability to work in hot, cold and/or wet areas, lift (40) pounds, push loaded carts weighing (350) pounds.
Ability to conform to dress code according to infection prevention needs and policies.
Ability to practice safe food handling techniques.
Must have the ability to adjust to fluctuating work load and adhere to production schedules.
Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with co-workers, customers, supervisors and managers.
