You will maintain proper sanitation and food safety practices during food handling, meal preparation, and equipment use while keeping a clean and organized work environment. You will assist patients with menu selections as needed and distribute meals according to the diet master list. Responsibilities also include collecting meal trays following service, transporting food carts appropriately, and delivering snacks to patients as assigned. You will support ongoing tray line operations and perform additional duties as needed to support department operations and patient care services.Salary Range: $21.05-25.64/hrJob QualificationsPress space or enter keys to toggle section visibility* Demonstrated experience in food service, including tray assembly, meal service, and/or general food service operations.* Ability to read and write in English and follow oral and written instructions sufficient to identify food items and menu selections.* Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced tray assembly environment.* Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations without the use of a calculator.* Basic knowledge and understanding of therapeutic and modified diets.* Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with coworkers, medical staff, patients, supervisors, and management.* Ability to adhere to departmental dress code and appearance standards.* Ability to stand for extended periods of time and perform repetitive movements including stretching, bending, pushing, walking, lifting, and reaching.* Ability to lift and push heavy carts safely and efficiently.* Ability and willingness to attend required departmental training classes.As a condition of employment, the final candidate who accepts an offer of employment will be required to disclose if they have been subject to any final administrative or judicial decisions within the last seven years determining that they committed any misconduct; or have filed an appeal of a finding of substantiated misconduct with a previous employer.Current/former UC employees are subject to a personnel file review.
