Role & Responsibilities
We are seeking a Principal Engineer for a nuclear instrumentation manufacturer which would be a great opportunity for someone with experience in detector design and Class 1E qualification looking to further their career in nuclear or high-reliability sensor engineering.
Lead mechanical, electrical, and ceramic design of radiation sensors, cables, and connectors
Lead product development and own seismic, LOCA, and radiation qualification under IEEE 323/344
Author specifications, test reports, ECNs, and validation documentation
Mentor junior engineers, including design-of-experiments guidance
Partner with Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, and Sales on materials and process issues
Essential Qualifications
12+ years of engineering experience in nuclear, naval, aerospace, defense, or medical device environments
Advanced detector design, qualification testing, GD&T, and electrical testing; brazing, welding, ceramic-to-metal sealing
B.S. or M.S. in Engineering (Electrical, Physics, or Mechanical preferred); U.S. citizenship required
Bonus Qualifications
CAPM or PMP certification
Familiarity with 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, Part 21, or ASME NQA-1
Nuclear Navy, sensor, or MEMS background
