Role Overview
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Electrical Engineer with deep expertise in electrical power systems, particularly medium- and low-voltage power distribution. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience designing complex power infrastructure, with strong preference for data center or other mission-critical environments. This role combines advanced technical engineering with customer and supplier interaction, requiring someone who can provide technical leadership while driving projects from concept through implementation.
Responsibilities
- Design and engineer complex MV/LV electrical power distribution systems.
- Provide technical leadership for electrical power system design and implementation.
- Develop and evaluate solutions involving power distribution, UPS systems, converters, inverters, rectifiers, and power electronics.
- Analyze system requirements and make sound engineering decisions involving complex power infrastructure.
- Identify potential technical issues and develop effective solutions before they impact project execution.
- Support electrical infrastructure projects from concept through implementation.
- Serve as a technical interface between engineering teams, customers, and suppliers.
- Translate customer requirements into practical electrical engineering solutions.
- Evaluate supplier technologies, technical proposals, and system designs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve technical challenges.
- Provide technical guidance on power-system architecture, design tradeoffs, and troubleshooting.
- Represent the organization as a technical expert in discussions with customers and external partners.
Qualifications
- 12+ years of electrical engineering experience.
- 7+ years of experience designing MV/LV power systems.
- Strong expertise in electrical power distribution.
- Strong knowledge of UPS systems, converters, inverters, rectifiers, and power electronics.
- Experience supporting data centers or other mission-critical electrical infrastructure strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership on complex electrical engineering projects.
- Experience working directly with customers, suppliers, and engineering teams.
- Ability to evaluate technical solutions and make independent engineering decisions.
- Experience troubleshooting complex electrical power-system issues.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Candidates with 17+ years of experience may be considered for a Distinguished-level position with an increased salary range.
