The Principal Cost Estimating Analyst is responsible for developing and managing complex proposal costs from RFP to management review, including providing government audit and fact-finding support.
Reporting to the Associate Director, Corporate Finance, they collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, Program Management, and Contracts teams.
Key duties include mastering estimating systems to prepare and analyze cost proposals, coordinating cost data collection from various departments, and consolidating and validating basis of estimates (BoEs) for accuracy across all cost elements such as Labor, Material, Travel, and Subcontracts.
They research historical data, develop cost models, assess estimating techniques, and evaluate Bills of Materials, selecting appropriate pricing methods like purchase order history or vendor quotes to support accurate proposal costings.
