Description

CDN Platform Engineer responsible for designing, implementing, automating, and maintaining enterprise Content Delivery Network (CDN) platforms in a large-scale, customer-facing environment. The role focuses on Multi-CDN architecture, CDN automation, Infrastructure as Code, edge security, self-service tooling, observability, and global CDN migrations.

The candidate will work closely with application, network, security, and automation teams and serve as a CDN Subject Matter Expert (SME).

Job Responsibilities

Act as the technical owner/SME for enterprise CDN technologies.
Design, deploy, configure, and maintain Multi-CDN environments.
Manage CDN platforms including:Akamai
Cloudflare
Fastly
Google Media CDN
GCP Cloud CDN
Lead global CDN migrations and modernization initiatives.
Develop Terraform and Ansible automation for CDN provisioning and configuration.
Automate:CDN properties
Origin mappings
WAF rules
Bot Management policies
Cache purges
Build self-service CDN capabilities using Backstage.
Develop frontend components using React.
Develop backend APIs using Python/FastAPI/Flask or Java.
Build and maintain CI/CD and GitOps pipelines using Tekton and GitHub Actions.
Implement API management and security using Apigee, OpenAPI, and 42Crunch.
Monitor CDN performance and security using Splunk, Dynatrace, and Grafana.
Perform RCA for critical production incidents and participate in on-call rotations.
Establish CDN SLOs/SLAs, monitoring, alerting, and proactive remediation.
Mentor engineers and create technical documentation, playbooks, and training materials.
Evaluate emerging CDN technologies and performance optimization techniques.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree is mandatory.
5+ years of enterprise CDN experience.
Strong hands-on experience with at least one major CDN platform such as:Akamai
Cloudflare
Fastly
Google Cloud CDN
Strong understanding of:DNS
GTM
CNAME chaining
HTTP/2
HTTP/3
TLS/SSL
Caching headers
Edge computing
Strong Multi-CDN implementation and management experience.
Hands-on Terraform and Ansible experience.
Experience with CDN WAF and Bot Management.
Experience developing API-driven automation/self-service solutions.
Experience with React and Python/Java backend APIs.
Experience with GitOps/CI/CD, preferably Tekton and GitHub Actions.
Strong production troubleshooting, RCA, monitoring, and incident-management experience.
