Description

Elk Valley Elementary School is seeking a qualified and experienced educational leader to serve as Principal. The successful candidate will provide instructional leadership, promote student achievement, support teachers and staff, maintain a positive and safe school environment, and work collaboratively with students, families, staff, and the community.Essential ResponsibilitiesProvide strong instructional and administrative leadership for the school.Establish and maintain a positive school culture focused on student learning, achievement, and success.Supervise, evaluate, and support teachers and other school personnel.Develop and implement school improvement initiatives aligned with district and state expectations.Monitor student achievement data and use data to inform instructional decisions.Ensure compliance with Tennessee Department of Education requirements, Board of Education policies, and applicable state and federal laws.Manage school operations, including scheduling, student discipline, attendance, safety, and personnel matters.Promote effective communication and positive relationships among students, staff, parents, and the community.Support professional development and continuous improvement among faculty and staff.Manage school resources and budget responsibilities effectively.Collaborate with district administration and other principals to support district-wide goals and initiatives.Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Schools.QualificationsValid Tennessee Instructional Leader License (ILL) or other Tennessee administrative license/endorsement appropriate for service as a principal, as required by state law and Tennessee State Board of Education regulations.Master's degree from an accredited institution.Successful experience in education, with demonstrated leadership experience preferred.Strong knowledge of curriculum, instruction, assessment, school improvement, and student support.Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, staff, families, and community stakeholders.Ability to establish and maintain a positive, collaborative school culture.Tennessee requires individuals serving as principals in public schools to hold the appropriate valid license. Current Tennessee Department of Education guidance states that the Instructional Leader License permits an educator to serve as a principal, assistant principal, or instructional supervisor.Preferred QualificationsPrior experience as a principal, assistant principal, or other school-level instructional leader.Experience with school improvement planning and implementation.Demonstrated success in improving student achievement.Experience supervising and evaluating certified and classified personnel.Strong understanding of Tennessee education laws, regulations, and accountability requirements.Campbell County Board of Education is an equal opportunity employer.
