The Principal Applications Engineer will lead customer application development around next-generation Mass Spectrometry solutions supporting Semiconductor Manufacturing. This role partners closely with Engineering, Product Management, Sales, Marketing, and Customers to develop application-specific solutions, support semiconductor evaluations, perform customer demonstrations, and contribute to future product roadmaps.
Key Responsibilities- Develop application-specific Mass Spectrometry solutions.
- Support Semiconductor OEM and Fab evaluations.
- Configure, calibrate, validate, and test analytical instruments.
- Perform onsite installation, debugging, and performance analysis.
- Deliver customer demonstrations and technical presentations.
- Conduct operational training for customers.
- Analyze customer samples and prepare technical reports.
- Support new product introductions and product roadmap planning.
- Work closely with Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Product teams.
- Build strong customer relationships through technical leadership.
- Support semiconductor process monitoring applications.
- Contribute to next-generation product roadmap development.
- Travel up to 30% domestically and internationally.
Required Qualifications- Master's Degree in Physics, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
- 2–6 years of Applications Engineering or Applications Scientist experience.
- Hands-on experience with Mass Spectrometry-based solutions.
Experience with analytical instrumentation including: - Mass Spectrometers
- Gas Analyzers
Experience with Mass Spectrometric Residual Gas Analysis (RGA).
Familiarity with Semiconductor Manufacturing processes including: - Experience configuring, calibrating, validating, and troubleshooting analytical instruments.
- Strong customer-facing presentation and product demonstration experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated with strong customer engagement skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 30%.
Preferred Qualifications- Knowledge of PLC hardware.
- Python scripting.
- LabVIEW.
- Semiconductor process monitoring.
- Product Introduction (NPI).
- Prototype evaluation.
