Backed by Marc Benioff, Jerry Yang, and Accel-KKR, Birdeye was named to G2's 2026 Best Agentic AI Products list - appearing alongside the world's leading AI companies. We're expanding rapidly into enterprise, with growing adoption across large, multi-location brands.

    About the role

BirdEye is looking for a Principal AI-Native Product Designer to define and deliver the next generation of intelligent customer experiences.

This is a senior individual-contributor role for a designer who can turn rapidly evolving AI capabilities into products that feel simple, trustworthy and genuinely useful. You will work across AI agents, agent-building tools, conversational experiences, automation and human-in-the-loop workflows.

You will operate at both strategic and execution levels-setting the experience vision, shaping product direction, building prototypes and partnering closely with Product, Engineering, AI/ML and executive leadership. Your work will help make sophisticated AI capabilities self-service for customers, without requiring extensive onboarding or ongoing support.

    What you'll do

    • Define the experience vision and design strategy for BirdEye's AI-native products and agent platform.
    • Transform complex AI models, agent behaviors and workflows into intuitive customer experiences.
    • Design systems that help users create, configure, test, deploy, monitor and improve AI agents independently.
    • Establish interaction patterns for conversational interfaces, generative experiences, automation and human oversight.
    • Create journey maps, workflows, prototypes and production-ready designs.
    • Lead discovery and usability research with real customers, translating insights into measurable product improvements.
    • Design for transparency, trust, explainability, control, graceful failure and responsible AI use.
    • Partner with Product and Engineering from early exploration through launch and iteration.
    • Prototype with modern design and AI tools to evaluate ideas quickly.
    • Define success measures for usability, adoption, task completion, customer confidence and support reduction.
    • Raise the quality bar through critique, mentorship and reusable AI experience principles.
    • Influence senior leaders and align teams around a coherent, customer-centered product vision.

    Requirements

    What we're looking for

    • 10+ years of product design experience, including significant experience leading complex enterprise or SaaS products.
    • A portfolio demonstrating exceptional systems thinking, interaction design and end-to-end product execution.
    • Experience designing AI-powered, conversational, agentic or automation-based products.
    • Strong understanding of generative AI capabilities and limitations, including uncertainty, hallucinations, context, feedback loops and human oversight.
    • Demonstrated ability to simplify technically complex products for non-technical users.
    • Experience conducting customer discovery, concept testing and usability studies.
    • Ability to move comfortably between strategy, detailed interaction design and hands-on prototyping.
    • Strong communication and storytelling skills, with experience influencing executives and cross-functional leaders.
    • Proficiency with Figma and contemporary prototyping tools.
    • Experience working effectively with distributed Product, Engineering and AI/ML teams.

    Preferred qualifications

    • Experience designing agent builders, copilots, workflow automation or developer platforms.
    • Familiarity with prompt design, model evaluation, retrieval-augmented generation and AI observability.
    • Experience building or evolving design systems for dynamic and generative interfaces.
    • Ability to create functional prototypes using code or AI-assisted development tools.
    • Background in customer experience, reputation management, marketing technology or adjacent B2B platforms.
