    About the role

    The Primary Therapist provides direct client care under the supervision of the Clinical Director. This role supports the delivery of high-quality behavioral health services, maintains a safe and efficient work environment, and collaborates with the treatment team to ensure consistent, client-centered care. The Primary Therapist conducts assessments, develops treatment plans, delivers therapeutic services, and ensures accurate and timely documentation in accordance with regulatory and agency standards.

    What you'll do

    • Provide direct support services, including individual and group therapy, mindfulness and meditation practices, 12-step–related topics, wellness promotion, and crisis management.
    • Conduct assessments and screenings to evaluate client needs and develop appropriate treatment goals.
    • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans; monitor, evaluate, and document client progress.
    • Complete intake documentation when assigned; prepare progress notes, event notifications, and other required records in alignment with regulatory and company standards.
    • Monitor caseload to ensure timely and accurate completion of assessments, treatment plans, case reviews, and discharge plans.
    • Facilitate coordination of care, including case reviews, therapeutic interventions, and monitoring client progress in treatment.
    • Conduct urinalysis/breathalyzer testing with clients as needed.
    • Protect client rights and uphold all ethical and professional standards.
    • Provide treatment that supports client dignity, independence, strengths, privacy, and personal choice.
    • Identify symptoms of mental health disorders, personality disorders, and substance use disorders.
    • Deliver behavioral health services within agency authorization and within the therapist’s professional
    • Meet the needs of adult clients with substance use concerns and possible co-occurring disorders.
    • Identify, prevent, and respond to situations where a client may:
      • Be a danger to self or others
      •  Exhibit aggressive or destructive behavior
      • Experience a crisis
      •  Experience a medical emergency
    • Read, understand, and implement client treatment plans.
    • Demonstrate ethical behavior, maintain professional boundaries, and refrain from accepting gratuities from clients.
    • Identify commonly prescribed medications for mental health and substance use disorders, including typical side effects and adverse reactions.
    • Maintain compliance with all required training and maintain documentation in personnel records.
    • Recognize and respond to fires, hazards, disasters, and medical emergencies.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the agency or direct supervisor.

    Qualifications

    Required Qualification

    • Master’s Degree in counseling or social work.
    • Licensed through Colorado Board of Behavioral Health of application for licensure is submitted with approval pending.

    Preferred Qualification

    • CAC II, CAC III, or LAC preferred.

    Compensation: $60,000- $62,500/ year

    Type: Full-Time 

    Shift: Monday- Friday, business hours with occasional on-call duties
