About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Primary Care Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team at a Community Based Outpatient Clinic in Ithaca, NY. In this role, you will collaborate with an integrated primary care team (PACT) to deliver comprehensive outpatient medical services and support excellent clinical outcomes for veterans.
Key Responsibilities
Examine, diagnose, and treat primary care patients under the supervision of a physician.
Formulate, implement, and maintain continuous patient management plans.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests (X-rays, ECGs, lab work).
Prescribe medications and counsel patients on proper usage, lifestyle modification, and mental health maintenance.
Complete all clinical documentation within 24 hours of patient encounters.
Ensure strict adherence to government/federal healthcare guidelines, formulary protocols, and compliance standards.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in PA studies required (Master’s preferred); graduate of an accredited PA program.
Experience: Combined academic training and healthcare experience in primary care or ambulatory settings (government/veteran healthcare environment preferred).
Licensure & Certification:
Active, unrestricted PA state license.
Credentialed and in good standing through federal/veteran healthcare guidelines.
Active, unrestricted DEA registration.
Current BLS (and ACLS, if applicable) certification.--
