Centerstone is seeking a passionate and community-focused Prevention Project Specialist to help prevent gambling-related harm across North Missouri communities. In this role, you will empower local coalitions, community leaders, organizations, and residents through education, strategic planning, technical assistance, and prevention initiatives that promote healthy decision-making and strengthen community well-being.

This position offers the opportunity to serve as a subject matter expert in gambling prevention while collaborating with community stakeholders to develop sustainable strategies that create lasting positive change.

What You'll Do

Community Leadership & Coalition Support

• Serve as the primary contact for community coalitions, task forces, organizations, and community members seeking gambling prevention resources and support.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and consultation to community coalitions focused on gambling prevention efforts.
• Assist coalitions with strategic planning, program development, grant applications, and community engagement initiatives.
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with community stakeholders, schools, agencies, and local leaders.

Prevention Programming & Technical Assistance

• Educate communities on gambling prevention best practices, resources, policies, and evidence-based strategies.
• Deliver training, technical assistance, and consultation to enhance local prevention capacity.
• Respond to requests for prevention services and information across the assigned geographic region.
• Connect communities with prevention resources and support services as available.

Planning, Evaluation & Data Management

• Conduct annual community needs assessments and coalition assessments to identify priorities and opportunities.
• Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of strategic work plans.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret data to support prevention initiatives and community presentations.
• Monitor program outcomes and recommend improvements to strengthen prevention efforts.

Reporting & Compliance

• Prepare annual reports, quarterly reports, and other contract-required documentation.
• Complete monthly billing percentage reports and Minimum Data Set (MDS) submissions.
• Assist with quality improvement activities and program evaluation efforts.
• Ensure compliance with contract requirements, grant expectations, and organizational standards.

Professional Development

• Participate in statewide prevention networks, conferences, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
• Stay current on emerging trends, research, and best practices related to gambling prevention.
• Support Centerstone's mission, values, and strategic objectives.

What You Bring

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Strong ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and presentation skills.
• Ability to build partnerships and collaborate effectively with diverse community stakeholders.
• Experience gathering, analyzing, and presenting data to support community initiatives.
• Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to write reports, develop strategic plans, and communicate complex information clearly.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other technology tools used for reporting and presentations.
• Commitment to community engagement, public health, and prevention-based approaches.

Qualifications

One of the following is required:

• Master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university; OR
• Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least one (1) year of professional experience in a social service, behavioral health, public health, education, or community-based organization.

Additional Requirements

• Obtain any required gambling prevention credential(s) within six (6) months of hire, if applicable.
• Complete required gambling prevention and related prevention training within nine (9) months of hire, as required by contract or program standards.
• Ability to travel throughout the assigned geographic area to attend meetings, trainings, and community events.
