Whitfield County Schools Position Description Preventive Maintenance Technician Annual Working Days: 260 FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Reports to: Mechanical Supervisor Salary Schedule: Operations Pay Schedule Pay Grade: Technician Level 1, Step 4 through Technician Level 1 Step 5 ($13.53 - $14.07) Summary: Assist in maintaining HVAC equipment by changing filters and belts.Must be willingto cross train and work with other departments as well as take on other job duties asassigned.Must be able to work in indoor and outdoor environments. Knowledge and Skill Requirements: The incumbent must be able to use common hand andpower tools. Qualifications: Must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function of the position.When appropriate, reasonable accommodations will be provided to afford persons withdisabilities an opportunity to perform the essential functions of the position. Essential Functions: Able to successfully complete complex tasks and projects Technologically proficient with the ability to learn and utilize various computer applications Able to safely operate various types of vehicles including pickup trucks, cars, lift trucks, and vans Have and maintain an acceptable motor vehicle report (MVR)and criminal history report basedon Whitfield County School System standards Have a CDL or is willing to get one Ability to prioritize tasks by level of urgency and importance Maintain personal integrity that is beyond reproach Performance Factors: Able to function as a member of a team focusing on organizational goals Physical Agility: Capable of lifting 50 pounds, climbing ladders, kneeling, stretching anddemonstrating manual dexterity (pinching, picking, etc).
