Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate press machines according to production specifications and safety procedures
  • Load raw materials and monitor machine cycles for optimal operation
  • Inspect finished products using precision measuring tools to ensure conformity to specifications
  • Make necessary adjustments to press equipment to maintain quality and output standards
  • Interpret production orders, part drawings, and technical specifications
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and report mechanical issues as needed
  • Maintain accurate documentation for production output, scrap, and downtime
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and external regulatory requirements
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures; use PPE as required
  • Participate in continuous improvement and Lean initiatives within the department

Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED

Experience:

  • 1+ year of experience operating press machinery in a manufacturing environment

Skills and Competencies:

  • Basic understanding of press operations, materials handling, and mechanical adjustments
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and measurement tools
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Good physical condition (standing for long periods, lifting up to 40lbs, repetitive motion)
  • Technical or vocational training in manufacturing or mechanical operations
  • Familiarity with progressive die and punch press operations
  • Forklift certification
  • Experience working under Lean Manufacturing or 5S principles

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Manufacturing floor environment: exposure to noise, grease, heat, and moving machinery
  • May require shift work, weekends, or overtime based on production demands
  • PPE required (gloves, safety glasses, steel-toe boots, etc.)
  • Ability to lift and carry up to [e.g., 40 lbs]
  • Prolonged standing and manual dexterity
  • Visual acuity for inspection and reading measurements
