HumanHire is partnering with an established manufacturing and production facility, located in the Farmingdale area, in their search for a
Press Break Operator.This is a skilled manufacturing position responsible for independently setting up, programming, and operating advanced press brake machinery to produce high-tolerance metal components.
Main Job Duties
Set up programs and perform brake operations on advanced precision press brake machinery according to work order specifications and fabrication drawings without supervision.
Read and interpret complex mechanical drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate and safe component shaping.
Calculate bend deduction allowances required to properly and safely configure air bend tooling.
Execute production runs efficiently while maintaining required quantities, strict dimensional tolerances, and high cosmetic quality standards.
Perform rigorous in-process quality inspections, verify dimensional tolerances, and complete all required production documentation.
Confirm operations and update status within the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
Strictly adhere to all safety policies, standard operating procedures, machine guarding regulations, and environmental health guidelines.
Complete production orders following initial setup, including staging materials and finalizing shift documentation.
Collaborate with team members across the department to foster a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
Perform routine preventive maintenance on assigned press brake equipment and report any mechanical defects to supervision promptly.
Meet established production timelines and quality benchmarks.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in sheet metal precision press brake operations is required.
Prior experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment is strongly preferred.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
Advanced ability to read, interpret, and work from blue prints and mechanical schematics.
Expert knowledge in safely setting up and operating modern precision press brake machinery and tooling.
Familiarity with general shop equipment (e.g., table saws, panel saws, chop saws, drill presses).
Physical capability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, reach, use a step stool/ladder, and lift up to 45 lbs for the duration of a shift.
Flexibility to work overtime when production schedules require it.
