About the Role
As a Pre-K Teacher at Merryhill School, you will help lay the foundation for lifelong learning by creating a safe, nurturing, and developmentally rich environment for our youngest students. Whether working with infants, toddlers, or preschool-aged children, you will foster curiosity, independence, and confidence through purposeful play and hands-on learning. Your classroom will be a warm, joyful space where each child feels supported and celebrated.


You will also:

  • Plan, supervise, and implement age-appropriate curriculum focused on early literacy, language development, math concepts, motor skills, and social-emotional growth
  • Create a classroom culture that nurtures each child’s individuality while promoting curiosity and confidence
  • Provide a structured yet playful environment through intentional, developmentally appropriate activities
  • Collaborate with fellow educators and school leadership to align with program goals and best practices
  • Maintain regular, positive communication with families through daily updates, reports, and conferences
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety policies, licensing regulations, and developmental standards


What We’re Looking For

  • 12 semester (or 18 quarter) ECE units covering child development, child/family/community, and curriculum; or a bachelor’s degree in Child Development
  • Child Development Associate Certification CDA) preferred
  • Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with young children
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Prior early childhood teaching experience preferred
  • Ability to support a safe, supportive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment
