Preschool Teacher Job Description
We are seeking a nurturing, dependable, and engaging Preschool Teacher to create a safe and positive learning environment for young children. The ideal candidate will support the social, emotional, physical, and academic development of students through age-appropriate instruction, creative activities, and strong classroom management.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards
- Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment
- Supervise children during classroom activities, meals, outdoor play, and transitions
- Encourage social, emotional, and cognitive development through play-based learning
- Monitor and document student progress and developmental milestones
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student performance and behavior
- Maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and educational materials
- Support students with varying learning styles and developmental needs
- Collaborate with staff and administration to support school goals and student success
- Ensure compliance with all licensing, health, and safety regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
- CDA (Child Development Associate) credential preferred
- Previous experience working with preschool-aged children preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage classroom behavior positively and effectively
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain
