    Preschool Teacher

    Client Information- A nonprofit community center founded in 1984. Services include preschool, food pantry, Senior Program, GED/HSE program and ESL program.

     

    Position Summary

    Seeking out energetic and eager professionals that love working with 2- to 5-year-olds and have a passion to teach children new and amazing things daily.

     

    Major Responsibilities

    ·         Responsible for the overall cleanliness and organization of the classroom.

    ·         Communicates and interacts with children, staff, parents, and the public in a pleasant and respectful manner.

    ·         Comfortable with routine tasks such as diaper changing, feeding, moving toys, washing laundry and dishes.

    ·         Writes developmentally and age appropriate, lessons plan that include individualization for each child.

    ·         Regularly records child response to lesson planning and make appropriate adjustments.

    ·         Ability to collaborate, effectively facilitate change, communicate openly and effectively and willingness to learn.

    ·         Adhere to health, safety and sanitation procedures

    ·         Attends all required staff meetings, workshops and/or school functions.

     

    Requirements

    ·         Must hold a high school diploma/GED; CDA infant/toddler is preferred.

    ·         Associates Degree in Early Childhood education is a plus.

    ·         At least 1-2 years of experience working with children in a childcare or school setting.

    ·         Must be willing to pursue additional education as required by ongoing regulations, such as effective communication and safety practices for infants and toddlers, etc.

    ·         CPR Certification preferred

    ·         Must possess nurturing skills, be able to implement positive and anticipatory guidance with children and be able to move and play with small children both in and outdoors.

    ·         Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Excel, PP, Outlook)

    ·         Strong organizational and communication skills

    ·         Integrity and a positive attitude; self-starter demonstrating initiative while effectively adapting to change

    ·         Hours: M-F 7:30am to 4pm, 8am to 5pm;  and 9am to 6pm

    ·         Starting pay $16.00 to $20.00 hourly; nongroup health insurance and benefits offered; incentives
