Preschool Teacher

The City of Burlingame is looking for an energetic, caring, creative, and responsible Preschool Teacher. Under the direction of a Recreation Supervisor, the Preschool Teacher plans, schedules, and organizes preschool classes for the City's Village Park Preschool program, ensures policies and procedures are followed, and performs related work as required.

Village Park Preschool Program

Village Park Preschool is a play-based preschool program offered by the City of Burlingame Parks and Recreation Department at Village Park. We offer three programs: Lil' Sprouts (2-year-olds), Cottage Kids (3-year-olds), and Afternoon Owls (3-year-olds).

The emphasis of the program is physical, social, and emotional growth in a child-centered environment. Activities are designed to foster healthy development and an early love of learning. Village Park Preschool strives to create an environment that inspires each child's individual creativity and self-expression.

Children participate in arts and crafts, music, body movement, basic science, cognitive games, creative and dramatic play, cooking, circle and story time, fine and gross motor skill building, and phonics awareness.

Program Hours

School Year (August-May)

• Monday/Wednesday/Friday, 9:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. - 2-year-olds
• Tuesday/Thursday, 9:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. - 2-year-olds
• Monday/Wednesday/Friday, 8:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m. - 3-year-olds
• Tuesday/Thursday, 8:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m. - 3-year-olds
• Tuesday/Thursday, 12:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m. - 3-year-olds

Summer Camp (June-August)

• Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. - 3-4-year-olds

Work Schedule

• Approximately 8-20 hours per week
• Maximum of 960 hours per fiscal year
• Schedule may vary based on program and staffing needs.
