A leading Keystone STARS Certified Preschool in Bucks County, PA is seeking an experienced Preschool Principal / Early Childhood Director / Head of School / Childcare Director to lead a large, high-performing early childhood education center. This is a promotion-based opening. The current Principal is being promoted to Executive Director. This is your opportunity to lead one of the largest licensed preschools in Bucks County.

A leading Keystone STARS Certified Preschool in Bucks County, PA is seeking an experienced Preschool Principal / Early Childhood Director / Head of School / Childcare Director to lead a large, high-performing early childhood education center. This is a promotion-based opening. The current Principal is being promoted to Executive Director. This is your opportunity to lead one of the largest licensed preschools in Bucks County.

Responsibilities

What You'll Lead as Preschool Principal

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of 80 early childhood educators.
• Own hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, retention, and difficult conversations.
• Build a culture of accountability and service excellence.

Family Experience & Customer Service

• Deliver exceptional customer service to parents and staff.
• Handle parent concerns professionally, close the loop quickly, and re-engage families.
• Lead all schoolwide communication.

Daily Operations & Educational Quality

• Oversee daily operations, staffing ratios, schedules, and classroom coverage.
• Ensure high standards of safety, cleanliness, and organization.
• Support Creative Curriculum, play-based learning, Conscious Discipline, and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Coach teachers via classroom observations.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

• Ensure full compliance with Pennsylvania Department of Human Services Childcare Licensing and Keystone STARS standards.
• Manage documentation, audits, ratios, supervision, and safety.
• Proficient in systems like 1Place, PA Keys, LineLeader, and Google Workspace.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as Director, Assistant Director, Preschool Principal, Head of School, or Childcare Center Director
• Deep understanding of early childhood education, child development, and PA childcare regulations
• Keystone STARS certification preferred - We provide professional development and will help you obtain any needed certification

Required Skills

• Proven people manager - calm under pressure, strong emotional intelligence, highly organized and responsive
• Excellent written/verbal communication
• Must be able to open/close building on rotating basis and attend 4 weekend events per year
• Physical: Active, hands-on role - standing, walking, bending, sitting on floor, lifting up to 40 lbs
