    District Supervisor of Preschool and Kindergarten

    DESCRIPTION:

    The role of the Preschool Family Involvement Program Coordinator is to strengthen the connection between families and the preschool program by promoting meaningful engagement opportunities. The Coordinator will foster an inclusive environment that enables families to participate in their children's educational experience through hands-on activities that promote language development, literacy skills, and mathematical thinking skills.

    DUTIES:

    • Assist teachers in planning the content of workshops
    • Oversee two (2) workshops per month during after-school hours (3:45-5:15pm)
    • Develop flyers and use various modes of communication to inform and involve families
    • Submit orders and/or purchase necessary supplies
    • Maintain accurate records of family participation and activities planned
    • Collect parent surveys to identify needs, interests, and areas of concern
    • Submit records to Supervisor at the end of the program in compliance with GNJK requirements
    • Workshops will take place October, November, February, March, April and May.
    • 38 total hours
    • Oversee two (2) workshops per month x 1.5 hours each workshop x 6 months = 18 hours
    • Create flyers, prepare emails, communicate with families, review surveys= 12 hours
    • Plan content, organize materials, purchase supplies = 8 hours

    REQUIREMENTS:

    Applicants must be certified teachers with experience working with young children and families in an educational setting. Duties must be performed outside of regular school hours/duties.

    REMUNERATION:

    Salary will be in accordance with the current KEA salary guide. This program is funded by PEA.
