    What You'll Do:
    The Prep Cook plays a key role in using fresh quality ingredients to create our variety of dishes
     
    Responsibilities:
    •Follow established steps of service to efficiently prepare ingredients, maintain kitchen organization, and uphold food safety and sanitation standards 
    • Able to work independently while maintaining clear communication and collaborating effectively with team members
    • Demonstrate a willingness to learn, adapt to feedback, and comply with all company policies and safety regulations
    • Wash, peel, chop, slice, and dice vegetables, fruits, and other ingredients as needed 
    • Pay meticulous attention to portion sizes, weights, measurements, and volume to ensure consistency and quality across all dishes 
    • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and appliances thoroughly at the end of each shift 
    • Perform other duties or tasks as assigned by any manager or VP of Operations based on business need
     
    Qualifications:
    • 18+ years of age 
    • High school diploma or equivalent 
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a kitchen environment 
    • Comfortable engaging with the public 
    • Passionate about serving others 
    • Able to communicate in English effectively during guest interactions 
    • Must have reliable form of transportation and be able to work flexible shifts, inclusive of weekends, days, late nights, and holidays
    • Regular and dependable attendance is an essential function of this position.
    • This position requires consistent availability for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evening shifts, as well as Sunday morning shifts, on an ongoing basis. Candidates must be able to reliably work these required shifts as part of the regular schedule expectations for the role. Availability for these shifts is a condition of employment for this position. This availability is also an essential function of the role.
     

    Preferred:
    • Bilingual in Spanish
    • ServSafe Food Handler certification

    Physical & Environmental Demands:
    • Able to distinguish colors and see both up close and at a distance 
    • Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds 
    • Able to use manual dexterity, gross motor skills, and fine motor skills 
    • Must be able to walk at least 10,000 steps per shift, including stairs and inclines/declines 
    • Able to pivot, transition between seated and standing positions, kneel, stoop, and lift throughout shifts 
    • Able to work in confined spaces 
    • Comfortable working in loud, distracting environments 
    • Able to multitask and work efficiently with speed, accuracy, and composure under pressure while withstanding the temperatures typical of a fast-paced, high-volume commercial kitchen setting
