Prep Cook 40 hour TEMPORARY

Places food trays over food warmers for immediate service during meal service, or store them in refrigerators. Assist cooks and kitchen staff with various tasks as required, and provide cooks with needed items.

Job Description:

Duties and Responsibilities

• Will store food in specific containers and storage areas in order to prevent spoilage

• Prepare a variety of dishes according to supervisors’ instructions and also follow approved procedures

• Pack hot meals daily to be delivered each morning
• Package cold meals for next days service

• Places food trays over food warmers for immediate service during meal service, or store them in refrigerators

• Check supplies and inform supervisor when supplies are getting less or any equipment is not working.

• Follow assigned recipes

• Assist cooks and kitchen staff with various tasks as required, and provide cooks with needed items
• Stock shelves and refrigerators and put away deliveries
• Use manual and or electric appliances to clean, peel, slice, and trim foods

Education and Qualifications

• Should have at least one year experience in direct food service operation
• Hands – on experience a must
