Job Description

  • Lead and oversee preconstruction activities for large, complex, and/or multiple concurrent projects.
  • Direct estimating, bidding, scheduling, contracting, and preconstruction strategy.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop preconstruction team members.
  • Partner with operations and division leadership on team assignments and project strategy.
  • Develop project budgets, estimates, schedules, and procurement strategies.
  • Evaluate plans and specifications to identify risks, opportunities, and constructability concerns.
  • Lead subcontractor and vendor bidding, scope review, leveling, and negotiations.
  • Provide guidance on value engineering, cost management, and risk mitigation.
  • Coordinate with owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects transition from preconstruction to operations with clear scope, budget, schedule, and execution strategies.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will have 15+ years of construction experience, including at least 10 years in preconstruction leadership, estimating, or a related capacity. They will be an experienced leader with a strong understanding of construction estimating, scheduling, contracting, and project delivery, combined with excellent communication, delegation, negotiation, and decision-making skills. Experience managing large, complex, specialized, or high-value projects is highly valued.
