Role Description
The Preconstruction Manager / Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and, detailed cost estimates for construction projects. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication with team members and stakeholders. The Manager / Estimator plays a crucial role in ensuring projects are financially viable and align with client budgets.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare cost estimates.
Prepare accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
Use estimating software and tools to compile and analyze data.
Prepare and submit bid proposals and tender documents.
Work with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotes.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, clients, and project managers to clarify project requirements.
Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits.
Monitor project costs during construction to ensure alignment with estimates.
Update estimates based on project changes or unforeseen conditions.
Prepare detailed reports on estimated costs, project budgets, and financial forecasts.
Maintain records of all estimates, bids, and related documents.
Education:
A Bachelor’s Degree in construction management or a related field.
Experience:
3 or more years of experience as an estimator in the construction industry.
