Preconstruction Manager

The Preconstruction Manager will: Preconstruction Leadership & Department Development * Build and lead the preconstruction department, including staffing, systems, and processes. * Develop and implement preconstruction protocols, estimating tools, and project budgeting frameworks. * Collaborate with design and project management teams to ensure seamless project delivery from concept to construction. * Oversee bid preparation, subcontractor engagement, and value engineering efforts. Strategic Growth & Executive Collaboration * Partner with the President to define and execute long-term business strategies. * Contribute to organizational planning, including market expansion, service offerings, and operational improvements. * Participate in executive decision-making and leadership meetings. Business Development & Client Engagement * Support business development efforts by providing technical expertise during client pitches and proposal development. * Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors. * Ensure client satisfaction through proactive communication and problem-solving. Talent Acquisition & Team Building * Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing preconstruction and construction professionals. * Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

The Successful Preconstruction Manager:

  • 10+ years of experience in commercial construction, with a strong background in preconstruction and estimating.
  • Proven leadership experience in building and scaling teams.
  • Deep understanding of design/build delivery methods and commercial construction practices.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic mindset with a hands-on approach to execution.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
