Executive Opportunity

Trane Technologies is seeking an accomplished, enterprise-minded leader to serve as Regional Preconstruction Business Leader for our North America Energy Services business. This role offers the opportunity to shape regional strategy, influence enterprise priorities, and lead a critical segment of the business at the intersection of growth, customer value, operational rigor, and organizational capability.

This leader will provide strategic leadership for the region's preconstruction business and will be accountable for business performance across profitability, resource optimization, forecasting, customer outcomes, and execution excellence. The role spans Performance Contracting, Comprehensive Solutions, Design-Build, Turnkey, and emerging technologies opportunities, requiring a leader who can align strategy, talent, and operational discipline to accelerate growth and strengthen market position.

As a key member of the regional leadership team, this leader will work in close partnership with Sales, Operations, Engineering, and North America functional leadership to translate strategic priorities into measurable business results. Success in this role will require strong commercial judgment, the ability to lead through influence in a highly matrixed environment, and a demonstrated track record of building high-performing organizations.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic and Business Leadership

• Provide executive leadership for the region's preconstruction business, with accountability for growth, profitability, forecasting accuracy, workforce planning, utilization, and overall business performance.
• Shape regional strategy, investment priorities, and portfolio direction across the Energy Services opportunity landscape.
• Translate enterprise and regional priorities into operating plans, execution strategies, and measurable business outcomes.
• Lead strategic alignment across regional sales and operation teams to ensure focus on the highest-value opportunities and investments.

Customer and Market Leadership

• Lead the regional approach to opportunity development, ensuring resources are aligned to the most strategic customer pursuits and growth priorities.
• Provide executive oversight for complex and high-value opportunities, including alternative delivery models, Design-Build pursuits, resilience solutions, and integrated customer engagements.
• Ensure customer solutions are technically sound, financially disciplined, and aligned with long-term customer objectives.
• Strengthen regional competitiveness through informed market perspective, sound business judgment, and close alignment with customer priorities.
• Partner across Sales, Operations, Engineering, and enterprise support functions to elevate opportunity quality, execution readiness, and customer outcomes.

Operational Excellence and Enterprise Alignment

• Drive disciplined execution through strong operating rhythms, performance management, forecasting rigor, and continuous improvement.
• Use business performance indicators, portfolio reviews, and organizational insights to guide decisions, improve execution, and remove barriers to performance.
• Advance a culture of accountability, problem solving, risk management, and operational excellence across the regional organization.
• Leverage enterprise capabilities, tools, and best practices to improve scalability, execution consistency, and business impact.

Talent and Organizational Leadership

• Build and lead a high-performing regional preconstruction organization with a strong focus on leadership effectiveness, capability development, and succession planning.
• Develop leadership bench strength and strengthen the organization's ability to meet future business needs.
• Foster a culture defined by accountability, collaboration, customer focus, and continuous improvement.
• Lead change effectively across a geographically dispersed, matrixed organization and drive adoption of evolving tools, processes, and business expectations.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a seasoned business and people leader with deep expertise in Energy Services, preconstruction, and project development, and a demonstrated ability to lead at scale in a complex, matrixed environment. This individual combines strategic thinking with strong commercial and operational acumen, and is recognized for building high-performing teams, advancing business performance, and delivering customer-centered solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in energy services, preconstruction, project development, or a related field.
• Proven success leading teams and delivering strategic business results.
• Strong understanding of market drivers, risk, development strategy, and customer solutioning.
• Experience managing performance metrics such as project schedules, budgets, and scope.
• Deep knowledge of Energy Services solutions, preconstruction practices, and financial and technical solution development.
• Significant experience with Design-Build and ESPC delivery models.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen, including forecasting, portfolio prioritization, business case evaluation, and Operating Income management.
• Demonstrated success building, developing, and leading high-performing teams.
• Executive presence, sound judgment, and excellent communication skills.

Annual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range:

$146,521.66 - $235,500.00
