Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced
Preconstruction & Estimating Manager to oversee mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection estimating for all Americaribe projects in South Florida, with occasional work in the U.S. and Caribbean.
This role is responsible for managing the full estimating lifecycle—from early design through final bid/GMP—and preparing comprehensive, detailed bid packages.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Lead estimating efforts for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and (when applicable) swimming pools and kitchen equipment.
- Manage estimates from initial drawings through final bid/GMP, including quantity takeoffs, pricing, subcontractor solicitation, bid analysis, and scope review.
- Prepare complete bid packages and clearly define scope of work.
- Identify and evaluate qualified subcontractors and vendors based on project size, complexity, and location.
- Issue RFIs and coordinate with designers, owners, and internal teams.
- Analyze subcontractor/vendor proposals to ensure full scope coverage and identify cost gaps.
- Assist in preparing GMP/budget presentations (SOV, bid tabs, qualifications, assumptions).
- Liaise with joint venture partners, designers, and other third parties as needed.
- Travel occasionally (2–4 days max) within the U.S. or Caribbean for project-related work.
Qualifications- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of estimating experience on large, complex building projects (e.g., high-rise residential, hospitality, healthcare, education).
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Excel, MS Word, Onscreen Takeoff (or similar), and Bluebeam (or similar).
- Soft Skills: Strong team player, excellent communication, fluent in English.
- Travel: Willing and able to travel occasionally (short trips).
