Preconstruction Director - Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings

Our client is an established, fast-growing building company in the Mesa, Arizona area, with a pre-engineered metal building business and a commercial construction side. They need a Preconstruction Director to lead estimating across the company.

The role

- Lead a team of about 6, including 2 estimators on the commercial general contractor side

- Oversee estimating and preconstruction for pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) projects

- Oversee commercial general contractor estimating, including small tenant-improvement and office build-outs inside PEMBs

- Coach and develop estimators and keep bids accurate, competitive, and on schedule

- Work with sales, project management, and ownership to win profitable work

What you bring

- Estimating or preconstruction experience with Butler Manufacturing products (required)

- Experience managing people, and a real interest in stepping into a director role (you don't need the title today)

- Commercial general contractor experience is a plus, and you must be open to overseeing that side

Compensation and location

- Up to $150,000 base plus a 5–45% bonus based on company performance

- Relocation help is available, and national candidates with meaningful ties to the greater Phoenix area are welcome
