Job Description

Preconstruction Leadership

  • Oversee full lifecycle preconstruction activities from pursuit through project handoff
  • Develop execution strategies including budgets, schedules, and procurement plans
  • Enhance processes, tools, and best practices to improve efficiency and outcomes
  • Advise leadership during project pursuit, planning, and decision-making

Estimating & Cost Management

  • Lead all phases of estimating from conceptual through GMP development
  • Build detailed cost models for large-scale infrastructure and energy projects
  • Review drawings, specifications, and scope to ensure accurate pricing
  • Drive value engineering to optimize cost and performance
  • Assess contingencies, escalation, and project risks

Business Development & Proposal Support

  • Support pursuits, client presentations, and proposal development
  • Provide go/no-go recommendations and strategic input on opportunities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to strengthen win probability
  • Build and maintain strong client and partner relationships

Procurement & Trade Partner Management

  • Develop sourcing strategies for key project components and systems
  • Manage subcontractor engagement including bid leveling and evaluation
  • Negotiate pricing and contract terms to reduce risk and maximize value
  • Maintain a strong national network of vendors and trade partners

Risk & Project Planning

  • Identify risks related to scope, constructability, schedule, and market conditions
  • Partner with engineering and operations on design coordination and planning
  • Lead constructability reviews and ensure project readiness for execution
  • Facilitate smooth turnover to construction and operations teams

Team Leadership

  • Mentor and grow preconstruction and estimating teams
  • Promote a collaborative and high-performance culture
  • Support hiring and scaling efforts aligned with company growth

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Engineering, Architecture, or similar field
  • 5-10 years of experience in preconstruction, estimating, or project development
  • Strong background in design-build, MEP, infrastructure, or energy-related projects
  • Proven experience in estimating, cost modeling, and project planning
  • Deep understanding of construction methods, procurement, and scheduling
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
