Precision Thread Rolling Specialist — Rockford, IL

A day in the life

Start your shift in our Rockford facility by reviewing the production plan and blueprint packages for the fasteners on deck. You’ll set up and operate thread rolling machines, dialing in feeds, speeds, and dies to achieve exacting thread forms. Throughout the shift, you’ll make fine adjustments, verify dimensions with precision measurement tools, and document quality checks to keep every part within spec.

You’ll partner closely with the production and quality teams to troubleshoot, swap tooling when needed, and maintain a safe, organized cell. As orders move, you’ll track output to hit daily targets—without compromising quality. Before you clock out, you’ll complete minor maintenance, clean down the machine, and communicate handoff notes for the next operator.

What you’ll do

• Run and maintain thread rolling machines to produce fasteners to specification
• Inspect threads, verify dimensions, and confirm part conformity using precision gauges
• Adjust machines proactively to hold tight tolerances and meet production goals
• Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to guide set-ups and inspections
• Troubleshoot common equipment issues and perform minor preventive maintenance
• Collaborate with production and quality to resolve issues and improve processes
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, safe work area

What you’ll bring

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1–2+ years operating thread rolling equipment in a manufacturing environment (required)
• Working knowledge of fastener manufacturing, troubleshooting, and machine upkeep (required)
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings (required)

You should be proficient in:

• Equipment Troubleshooting
• Precision Measurement & Inspection
• Blueprint Reading

Compensation & schedule

• Pay: $30.00–$40.00 per hour, depending on experience
• Employment Type: Full-time, on-site
• Shifts: 1st (7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) or 2nd (5:00 p.m. – 3:00 a.m.)
• Schedule: Monday–Thursday with potential OT on Fridays
